Easter Card Challenge

Its been a little while since I did a blog post - over a year to be honest.  Life has a way of getting busy and other things take priorities.  The past year has been a year of change in our family. We have 3 grandchildren now.  Liam, 3 and Stella, 1, live in Ottawa with my oldest daughter and her husband.  They are so special to me and I try to see them as much as possible.  I also have a beautiful new granddaughter who is just over 3 months old.  Elle Skye - isn't that a great name?  She lives closer to me here in Mississauga so I can see her and squeeze her as often as I like.  My oldest son and his wife are also celebrating not only the birth of their first child but their new home and the arrival of her mother from Zimbabwe after 13 years of separation.

This year I have done a lot more cards and crafty things for my grandkids.  Its nice to have little ones again!

With Easter coming up I thought it would be fun to make Liam and Stella a little Easter basket and of course a card.  I found a very cute and unique digistamp to download free from Dianes Digital Designs.  The pail on the side with the bunny peeking out is a different perspective.  I used paper I had on hand from a kit I purchased a few years ago at Winners.  The colours were perfect and to make it more noticable I cut the paper diagonally. I coloured the digistamp with copic markers (dont you love those? I sure do) and made one "girly" and one in boy colours.  I then used plain cardstock from Micheals to make the card base.  For their names I used an older sticker set from Frances Meyer in Flowerpot Purple.  Not sure where I picked that up - could have been at a Scrapcancer crop or at my local scrapbook shop Scrapalicious which unfortunately closed a couple years ago.  I try really hard to shop my stash when making cards. I also added some rhinestone bling to the rim of Stella's pail and coloured in stripes on Liam's.  This was a fun little project and fairly quick to do.  I have also added 3 blue buttons to the bottom of Liam's card but didnt take a picture of that.  Inside are sentiments suitable for each of them.

Well I hope you enjoy my little cards, I'm linking this up to the challenge at Simply Create Too
